The Research Institute for Japanese Language Education is looking for people to trial units of a new course they are developing. The course is designed to improve writing skills.
The Internet-based course is designed for intermediate and advanced Japanese language students who have little problem communicating but are not satisfied with their writing skills. They may communicate in Japanese by email in the office, but may not be happy with the language that they write. They want to improve their writing skills, but do not have the opportunity.

No problems communicating, but poor written skills
Work requires a lot of communication in Japanese via email
Desire to write more natural sounding Japanese

Topic based course - one report per month on a set topic
Free topic course ? you decide what you will write about
You can learn at your own pace when you have time.

Trial Course - Participants Wanted!!　

Japanese language students willing to participate in the trial course should meet the following requirements:

	Native speaker of any language other than Japanese
	Satisfactory completion of a Basic Japanese course (or equivalent language level)
	Satisfactory completion of a Basic Japanese textbook (or equivalent).
	Successfully passed level 1 or 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, or studying towards it.
	Students who do not meet this requirement, but who are interested in taking the course, should inquire of the course staff about the suitability of the course for their level.
	Access to email and the Internet. (Mobile phone email access in unacceptable.)
	Able to use Word and Internet Explore
	Able to read and write in Japanese on the computer

Contents of Trial Course 

	Participants in the trial course will be asked to access a model unit and submit a written report.
	Three topics will be provided for you to write about. Or, you may write on a topic of your own choice.
	You will be asked to submit 1-3 pieces of writing.
	Your writing will be evaluated, corrected and returned to you.
	At the completion of the trial course you will be asked to complete a questionnaire to help us improve the course.
